We’ve come to expect EA to never mess around with its sales, and we’re pleased to report that it certainly isn’t messing around with its latest. From now, and presumably until shortly after New Years Day, all of the publisher’s gargantuan premium catalogue is an agreeable $.99. That means games like Madden 12, Trenches II, and many others have been reduced up to 90-percent off the original asking price. Whoa, right?

This same sale happened last year around this time, too. You probably know the story, but EA managed to choke the App Store’s charts with its titles and pushed everyone out of its way. It was a powerful move that set the yuletide savings tone moving forward.

EA doesn’t kid around when it comes to App Store sales. During Christmas 2010, the publisher offered up much of its catalogue for 99 cents. It’s doing the same right now in celebration of the US’ Independence Day, and I’m guessing it’ll net similar results: total App Store chart domination.

Around 90 of EA's titles have hit the 99 cent floor with this sale. Just below, we've listed the ones whose prices were slashed in honor of this holiest of holidays. The blurb in front of each game isn’t specific on the dates the sell will run, so buy now if you’re into anything the publisher has. Men like hitting stuff. At least, the “manly-men” of the world do, according to EA. The studio has kicked off its own Fathers’ Day celebration on the App Store, slashing prices for several of its action and sports-oriented titles. Big names like FIFA 11 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Madden 11 have been reduced to pennies, while others are receiving generous discounts. Dead Space, for example, is now just $3.

Overall, there’s over a dozen EA-published games available at 85-percent off the normal rate. We’re not sure how much longer the “Many-Man sale” — no joke — will last, so it’s probably wise to grab any of these while they’re on the cheap.

It seems like whenever a holiday rolls around in the US, all of the major developers put their catalog of iOS games on sale in an effort to ride a wave of publicity into the top app charts. Electronic Arts is no stranger to this practice, and in observance of a very special holiday this Winter they have dropped a huge number of their games down to 99¢. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and has been all my life. What's there not to love about an entire day revolving around eating massive amounts of turkey, stuffing, and all the other fixings? Sure, I could do without needing to feign interest in football, but thankfully tryptophan overload usually allows me to sleep through all of that. First off, here are some of what we consider must-have games that are on sale. We've positively reviewed all of these, and really recommend picking them up if you're going to grab anything from this price drop extravaganza-

Need for Speed Shift, $0.99 This is an absolutely fantastic arcade style racer that actually manages to capture almost everything that made the console version of the game fun. A must-have at 99¢.

ChuChu Rocket!, $0.99 A classic Dreamcast puzzle game that I paid full console game price for that I don’t regret one bit. A recent updated added a ton more content, making this a no-brainer for a buck.

Ravensword: The Fallen King, $2.99 This is the cheapest that this open-world RPG has ever been. It hasn’t exactly aged well compared to more recent 3D games (especially looking forward to Aralon) but it’s still a ton of fun and probably your best bang for the buck with hours upon hours of gameplay.

Defender Chronicles – Legend of The Desert King, $2.99 A cool twist on tower defense that has been updated a ton with all kinds of new content since its initial release. If you like tower defense and earning experience points, this is the game for you.

Harbor Master, $0.99 Harbor Master has been selling for $1.99 for quite a while now, if you missed the initial 99¢ launch price of this fun little content-packed line drawing game, here’s your chance to snag it again.

Jet Car Stunts, $0.99 Half racing game, half puzzle platformer. Pilot your jet car through a series of ridiculous jumps, twists, turns, and other obstacles. Retina Display graphics looks awesome, and the game runs fantastic on every device I’ve ever played it on.

Chopper 2, $2.99 This awesome sequel is loaded with all kinds of cool options, such as being able to control the game running on your iPad with your iPhone. Chopper had a huge fan following, and Chopper 2 doesn’t disappoint.

Game Dev Story, $3.99 If you’re looking for a game that will quite literally suck up your entire day (and battery in the process) look no further than Game Dev Story. Create your own game company, and even release your own game console eventually. It’s awesome.
